Public Safety: CCR Fire Science Academy and iCAN Fire Technology Pathways

 
 
CTE Fire Science Academy is taught after school at Castaic High School. The courses academically, mental, and physically prepare students who would like to explore a career in the Fire Department.
 
Castaic High School also offers Fire Technology (FIRETC) courses through the iCAN program. FIRETC courses are all taught during the school day at Castaic High School.

FIRETC 101: Principles of Emergency Services
FIRETC 102: Fire Prevention
 
(additional courses are planned for the 2024-25 school year)
Did you know that....
 
  • All FIRETC college units will go towards an Associate in Science Degree: Fire Technology
  • FIRETC 101 is the prerequisite for all future FIRETC courses
  • FIRETC courses will award weighted high school credit

Parents should be aware that although the Fire Technology classes are taught on Castaic's campus, the classes are COC classes. Due to FERPA, parents and high school counselors do not have access to the instructor, students' grade, or students' attendance.
