CTE Dental Assistant Pathway

 
 
The Dental Assistant Pathway is taught at Castaic High School. CTE Body Systems and Disorders is the pre-requisite for CTE Dental Assistant, which is taught after school in our state of the art working dental lab. All courses are high-school level courses.
 
 
 
 
Sequence of Courses 
Year 1: CTE Body Systems and Disorders A/B
 
Year 2: CTE Dental Assistant A/B
 
Work-based Learning: CTE Dental Practicum (taken concurrently with CTE Dental Assistant A/B)
 
Did you know that.....
  • all courses meet the Practical Art requirement for graduation 
  • all courses are A-G approved 
  • students will begin to work towards the 1280 hours of hours required to become a Registered Dental Assistant
  • many of our students get hired in the offices that they do their practicum hours in
