After consultation with fire officials, all Hart District schools except Academy of the Canyons will be open tomorrow, Friday, January 24. Academy of the Canyons remains closed due to College of the Canyons being used as a command center.

Dear Hart District Community,
We know that many of you are impacted by the fire in Castaic and we hope you are able to safely return to your homes soon. Thank you to the first responders who are fighting to keep our homes and community safe.

Some of our schools are currently under evacuation orders or evacuation warnings. School will be cancelled Thursday, January 23, at the following sites:

- Castaic High School
- Valencia High School
- Rio Norte Junior High School
- Academy of the Canyons (due to the closure of College of the Canyons)

All other schools will be open on Thursday, January 23.

We will continue to work with fire officials to monitor the situation. We will also be monitoring air quality and adjusting activities as necessary.
